Japan has rendered me speechless ,on more than one occasion,these last few days. This is the most horrific thing I have ever seen.I thought Haiti,the Tsunami from a a few years ago,Katrina were bad. This is the worst. My thoughts ,prayers and emotional support go out to my Japanese brothers and sisters. This is going to be a nightmare for months to come and they will need us.
I love how Michele Bachman ,while"campaigning" in NH tried to put the spin on her Tea Party affiliation. She was proud to be in the state where the shot heard round the world was....You know Lexington and Concord. I bet she saw Concord on a highway sign and BINGO....... Please ,please let her run!!!..Her next stop is Texas. She will be speaking at the Alamo and praising the victory there.
I am so disturbed by what is going on in Washington ,I want to shake someone!!
Peter King has the gall,to single out Muslims, as the Number 1 terror threat in the USA. Who on earth ,besides an bunch of racists,can actually support this?
He is conducting McCarthy type hearings. He is asking law abiding ,respectable members of the community to act as watch dogs. It has already been proven ,that they have been doing just that!They are just as disgusted as the rest of us,by terrorists. What this jerk has done,in reality, is amp up the hate against Muslims.
Meanwhile the Christian Whites are getting a free pass. Since 9/11 there have been 100-1 more White terrorist attacks in the USA than Muslim.They just arrested ,in Alaska , a "militia" group that is directly responsible for the deaths of seven police officers in the country. The guy in Spokane was going to blow up a parade . The "militia" in Az. that killed that little girl. The list goes on. How about the congressman from NY that supported the IRA ,back in the 90's. Oh, that was Peter King!!!
The Republicans have been crowing about their "huge" victory last November. Let's see what they have done.They have sent bill after bill to the Democratic controlled Senate. These bills have been overhauling the Health care. Wanting to cut all funding to NPR and PBS.They want to stop Planned Parenthood ,because they offer abortions.They don't ,but why let facts get in the way.They want to make it impossible for women to get abortions. Any woman! I am not real big on abortion, and am definitely not big on having it used as birth control. But you know what? Who cares what I think?It is legal and safe. If they get their way it won't be. Planned Parenthood has been a life saver for millions of womem, and they don't advocate abortion. They use it as a last resort, and do not do any on premises.You have to go to hospital and you have to pay for it yourself. No government assistance!!
Wisconsin, Fl.,Mich.,Ohio, are just a few of the states out to take our rights away. A couple of them have already succeeded. Republican governor's in all. It is plain as the nose on your face what the heck is going on. CONTROL The Walmart way of life.Low wages,cheap products and having them run the show.
The country stayed home in November and now the country is paying the price. My hope is ,though the country has wised up to these fools . If they haven't, we are all screwed.

What am I missing?
What am I missing? I am missing a President that promised to shut down Gitmo and isn't going to. A soldier who released confidential files that actually improved the world and is being tortured for his troubles. By the USA! A Sectretary of State who speaks about freedom of people being able to say what they want,as an elderly man is being ruffed up and arrested right in front of her.For turning his back!!!!
I am missing the whole Republican party!A "preacher" saying the President is in league with Mau Mau. That he spent his youth with his Muslim father. The "preacher" retracted it ,but the damage was done! How about we say the "preacher" spent his youth, hating Blacks, while living with his toothless, hillbilly father in Jed Clampett country? Another "man of faith" saying that the President has Kenyon leanings and is antiAmerican,while claiming he cheated on all of his wives, because of his passion for the country.And it is OK ,because he asked God's forgiveness and everything is cool now. Love those "family values"!
I am missing a govenor who has set back workers rights 50 years!Who has violated untold laws in doing so and feels that he is right!Anything to please his handlers!It is all about the budget. The one that was fine when he took over,but because of his tax breaks to his handlers is a mess now!.....In two months!!!
I am missing a Republican congress that campaigned on jobs and have spent the last 2 and 1/2 months on anything but! Who have spent their time trying to take away womens rights ,workers rights,and overall, the rights of people in general. But scream about Government being too big!!
I am missing anyone, in any type of power, connected with the Republican party to tell those moronic birthers to just SHUT UP!!.... The "leaders" hem and haw,but no one has said, go away ,to them, and the Mau Mau thing again rears it's ugly head.
I am missing the fact that billions of Muslim's are being persecuted for being Muslims. Love thy neighbor,as long as that neighbor prays to the same God as me.
Most of all, I am missing America!! If you happen to find her give me a hollor ,will you?

Why I will still vote for Obama
I have seen a lot of stuff about people being disenchanted with President Obama. I am one of those. I have seen a steady move to the right. I have been watching this for some time now. I have the feeling if I had paid more attention during the 2008 elections I wouldn't have been surprised. The fact was ,I was so against Bush ,and the Republican party in general,that I 100% embraced Obama. I didn't bother to check out the warts.If I had perhaps I wouldn't be so disillusioned now.
I have heard calls for a third party. I have heard Ron Paul mutterings .I have heard the Alan Grayson ,stuff. I firmly believe none of the above will work. Grayson,Wiener,Sanders are all worthy candidates in my mind .A few others also come to mind.I will take a good hard look after 2012. I think you would be cutting off your nose to spite your face to dump Obama now.The way this horrible system is set up ,there is not enough time to build a proper war chest for a viable candidate. Ralph Nader still leaves a bitter taste..
I don't want to her about what a great leader Obama is. About all the difficulties he has has to endure.He knew that when he took the job,and so didn't I. He promised to close Gitmo....not done...Iraq is still a quagmire.The health bill has more holes than a sieve. Afghanistan is out of control.He has done some really good things. He also has played right into Republican hands , way too much.
When I vote for him in 2012 ,it will much like I voted for Kerry in 2004. Not enthusiastically. Unlike 2008 ,when I did.

Let's stir the pot
I am probably gonna piss off a ton of people right now. So what's new?
I think this whole Wiki-Leak thing is a lot of BS. I think maybe 10% of it is good. We should always know when our country is acting illegal. If we are committing war crimes ,then scream it!OUT LOUD!If we are mistreating people,in the name of freedom,then again scream it! But I could give a rat's patooey about how we are talking about other countries!What does that have to do with anything? I could care less if Qaddafi is traveling around with a Brazilian nurse.
What I do care about is that "Saint" Julian is running around saying how everyone is out to get him and letting Private Manning rot in prison. If it wasn't for Manning, we would all be saying, Julian who? I have issues with what Manning did as in regard to the oath he took.Having said that, I think it took some damn courage to expose the helicopter fight waged on innocent civilians.I have no problem, as I have said, exposing any type of injustice we as a country are doing to innocent civilians.
If Assainge is innocent of the charges in Sweden, as he claims ,well then go back and deal with them. Stop crying "poor me" and as the expression goes ,MAN UP!Meanwhile Manning rots in jail with no money for his defense and "Saint" Julian just signed a million dollar book deal!He seemed to know what he was getting into, when he released this stuff, in the first place. He very well could be right ,and everyone is out to get him. It was a chance he took when he started this!
If it is true he has all kinds of stuff on the banks,again, I have no problem with that stuff also being exposed. Hidden torture camps we are using? Expose them!...Killing innocent Americans abroad?Expose them!.All I have seen so far though is a black eye for diplomacy and not a whole lot else.

Merry Christmas and another year gone
Merry Christmas and all that happy stuff to all my friends ,both christian ,non-christian .and atheists. I am a firm believer in that what you do is what you will get back .Do good ,for the sake of just plain doing good and you will get that back ten times over. Do good and expect a pat on the back for it and the hell with you..Getting a pat on the back is always a good thing ,for doing the right thing .Expecting a pat on the back...well as I say ,the hell with you.
I get the biggest kick out of "celebrities" who go visit sick kids in the hospital with a cameraman in tow. Or the politicians who visit the wounded ,with same cameraman. They make me sick. The real heroes are the ones who do it with out the cameramen.
I also don't believe donating your time or money should be a seasonal thing. I am pretty sure there are still plenty of needy people in July. That pesky homelessness or hunger thing is pretty much year round.
We pride ourselves on being the greatest country in the world. In a lot of respects we are. I may piss and moan ...and I do... but at the moment ,I wouldn't want to live anyplace else. That could change if Palin becomes president,but I digress.
The point I am trying to make is that yes it is the Christmas season,but so what? If you buy into the whole Jesus thing,then you also have to buy into the whole 365 thing. Too. many people don't ...They love the baby Jesus, from the day after Thanksgiving until December 26...then put it away til next year...just like the ornaments.
As people, we really should do a better job on the humanity front. I am no angel. I have on more than one occasion said Screw it. But I have also realized it and tried to do better.
So what I am taking the long way around the path to say is, maybe a little less Christmas and a little more humanity. I do believe at one time they may have been the same thing .

Back on the Big Box Rant!
Next time you stand in line at your local Big Box store,look around at the long lines and the empty cash registers.You will no doubt be wondering ,why they are in fact not being used.The reason is store budget. It is cheaper to have poor customer service,than employ more people. They know you will be back. They could care less about you . Not your money. That they love. But to make you wait in purgatory to check out ? Not an issue. To make you wonder around the store looking for a product? not an issue. To bring you in ,saying the have an item on sale and have it be out of stock? Not an issue. They only got 10 of them to begin with,but sent out 2000 fliers.. Who cares! You are in the store aren't you?
Look at the faces that are employed there. How many happy ones will you see. How many are working two jobs,just to survive. How many are on food stamps ,just so they can feed they're families? And how many do not have insurance,because they either don't get enough hours,or it is too expensive ,on the pay they make.
Take a look around and see how many older people are employed. Think about the jobs they lost, because it was cheaper for their company's to send the contracts to China,Mexico,India,etc. How many "Main St." business's are shut down,and now these workers are here.
This is the sad fact of what this country has become. Low paying ,I don't give a damn attitude. The workers hate their jobs. And the employers hate the workers . They employer mind set is that workers are out to screw them somehow. And the workers know the the employer's are screwing them . No one is happy. The days of long term employment is over. The days of worker loyalty is over. The days of low paying ..if you don't like it, then hit the bricks ....is now!
The answer is ,at least for me ,is to not shop in a Big Box.I know that somehow they will still survive with out my couple hundred a month. But what about yours....and yours...and yours??? Education is the key. If more people knew that they aren't saving a nickel,but in actuality costing the country untold billions of dollars every year. things might change.
I am doing my part. I hope you can do yours.

I am pissed off!!!
I don't care one bit about how Christmas is referred to.Happy Holidays...Merry Christmas... or whatever!I could care less if there is a manger in the local city park. I also could care less if a Mosque is built at ground zero. If some media whore wants to burn the Koran. I could care less if some over weight TSA agent wants to feel me up.I could care less if some piece of trailer trash wins some idiotic dance contest.
What I do care about is the fact that this country is going to hell in a hand basket. For the 1st time ever, unemployment is about to be stopped for millions of people!MILLIONS!This is an outrage!These are real people with real issues. I am sure you will know some of them. How on earth can this happen? How on earth can this even be a question? We don't have the money? ...BULLSHIT!!!
Our military budget is the biggest in the world. We have more than enough there to fund this and probably a dozen other worthwhile causes.What the hell is going on?Is Obama and the Democrats so hated that the Republicans will cut off their nose to spite there face? Everyday it is something new. In the last week it has been the Arms treaty,unemployment,and food programs in schools. Again,how the hell can this stuff be happening in America?
I am disgusted right now with Obama, for even letting it get this far. He is the President,for God sakes. I can't imagine any other president letting this happen. I understand that he is despised, because he is a Black man in power, and that is unacceptable for way too many. But he, and the rest of the mostly, spineless Democrats have to get beyond that. I don't want to hear about the big, bad Republicans blocking every thing .We know they will. Move on and and start playing on their field. Millions and millions are going to have NO money with in a week .That is what is important right now.NOTHING ELSE!
